Description

Please join contemporary embroidery artist Sarah K. Benning for a 3-hour workshop where she will demonstrate her favorite stitches to create lush botanical embroideries. In this hands-on class, participants will learn satin stitch, lattice stitch, whipped backstitch, couching, colonial knot, and other surface pattern techniques while they work on a potted plant composition. Participants can use templates designed by Sarah or draw their own favorite plants. In addition to the stitching techniques, Sarah will share insights into her color choices and tips for creating compelling compositions.
All skill levels are welcome.

Materials

All materials will be provided (including a 5 inch wooden hoop, fabric, thread, and templates).

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellations/postponements/refunds of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) are only permitted if you give us at least 7 days' notice of the start of the workshop. Any cancellation with less than 7 days' notice, we will do our best to fill your place, however, a refund or postponement can only be made if your place is filled.

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
