Finally, we're bringing a very special basketry technique to the workshop. The bunho technique is Portuguese and is on the verge of extinction and Macheia has played a fundamental role in the continuation of a technique that unfortunately today has very few artisans practicing it. Iany and Lucrezia from Macheia have received the transfer of know-how from one of the few people still practicing the bunho technique, the craftsman Manuel Ferreira. On October 16, they will come to the workshop and bring Manuel Ferreira, the bunho and his tools from Santarém.
In this workshop on the bunho technique, we offer a chance to get to know the technique, its protagonists and their role as witnesses to the technique's past, present and future. We're going to get our hands dirty and learn one of the variants of the technique to make a bunho piece, a cushion.
No previous knowledge is required.

All the necessary materials are included. Knife and tools (needle, razors...)

Deconfinement plan (Covid-19)
Due to the current situation, wearing a mask will be compulsory in the workshop. In addition, at the entrance (and often inside the workshop) you should disinfect your hands with an alcohol-based solution, which will be available inside the workshop. In the workshop, respect social distancing in order to maintain a safe distance from the other trainees.
