Description

The Carpentry Workshop is suitable for beginners who have never had contact with carpentry tools. You'll learn the art of transforming wood into useful objects, the work methodology inherent in carpentry, the techniques according to what you're going to build. You'll also learn the function and handling of the vast glossary of hand tools we have in the workshop, such as saws and chisels.

Practical Exercise

After a theoretical introduction and practical exercises in cutting, fitting, carving and hollowing, you will build an object designed by us. The execution of this object brings together various woodworking techniques and is an ideal exercise for your first contact with this craft.

We'll teach you how to interpret and plan the project, measure and mark the wood. And then put into practice the principles of joinery and exercises previously carried out, applied to this specific object.

No previous knowledge necessary. Minimum age for participation: 18 years old / Accompanied by an adult (two entries): 16 years old

Program Content

Class 1. Presentation of the workshop's aim and methodology / Types of wood and their applications / Introduction to hand tools for measuring, cutting, roughing and finishing / Introduction to cutting machines / Practical exercises using hand techniques for cutting, fitting, carving and hollowing.

Lesson 2. Object construction: Plan, measure and mark / Sawing: manual / Carving

Lesson 3. Constructing the object: Preparing the faces / Fitting, joining and splicing / Finalizing the project

The material needed for the training is included

At the end of the training, you take the bench with you.

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellations/postponements/refunds of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) are only permitted if you give us at least 7 days' notice of the start of the workshop. Any cancellation with less than 7 days' notice, we will do our best to fill your place, however, a refund or postponement can only be made if your place is filled.

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
