Description

The Flash Ceramics Workshop is an introductory workshop and is ideal as a first contact with ceramics. This ceramics workshop is suitable for those who have no previous knowledge of the technique. In addition to the theoretical introduction to the world of ceramics, which includes the types of ceramic pastes, the process of transforming clay into the ceramicsWe will also learn two hand-forming techniques.

Practical exercise

In this ceramics workshop, the shape of the pieces is directly linked to the type of techniques we'll be covering and means that at the end* you'll take two pieces with you that are ready to use, i.e. fired and glazed.
No previous knowledge is required.
Minimum age for participation: 16 years / Accompanied by an adult (two entries): 14 years

Theoretical introduction to ceramics: types of paste, firing, decorations and glazes
2 Manual forming techniques: Slab and Pinch Pot
Mini-manual
*All the pieces produced will be fired, glazed and fired again by us (they will have to be picked up afterwards).

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellation/postponement/refund of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) is only allowed if you give us at least 7 days' notice before the start of the workshop. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, we will do our best to fill your place, however, you can only postpone the workshop (or put the amount in a gift voucher) if your place is filled.

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.

Ceramic kit

We have a Ceramics Kit available, made up of all the material you need to start learning the various hand-forming techniques for ceramics. The kit is suitable for anyone who wants to continue learning, or who has never done a ceramics workshop before. It also includes a manual in which we explain the hand-forming techniques, as well as the preparation of the paste (and its packaging), the drying and shrinking process, among other details. The workshop is held in Portuguese. If you don't speak Portuguese, we will try to translate in English. But understand that Portuguese will be the main language.
