Who doesn't like playing board games? This workshop is for those who want to design and build them. Based on illustration exercises, the aim is to create a prototype of a board game, printed by hand using stencil and silkscreen techniques and built in joinery. The board, pins and packaging will be designed in individual classes and collective exercises.
In the first two sessions, different practical illustration exercises will be developed to help participants develop narrative skills from the point of view of the illustrated game. The intermediate sessions will be dedicated to the development of the illustrated game, through individual monitoring of each participant's work, which will culminate, in the last two sessions, in the production in joinery (game base/game elements) and preparation of the illustrations and respective printing in silkscreen/stencil.
You don't need any previous knowledge of the subject, nor do you need to bring any materials.

Class 2 (18/10) - Design and development of the illustrated game | Illustration and game mechanics exercise (e.g. what other objects are needed for the game: pins, instructions, dice, cards...)
Class 3 (25/10) - Briefing on projects and execution options | Showcase of available techniques and materials
Class 4 (08/11) - Briefing on projects and implementation options
Class 5 (15/11) - Development of the illustrated game | Project follow-up
Class 6 (22/11) - Development of the illustrated game | Follow-up of project/finalization
Classes 7 and 8 (29/11 and 6/12) - Woodworking production | Silkscreen and stencil printing

All the materials you need for the workshop are included. If you want to work with a more specific type of wood, you can buy it here.

Cancellation of Registration
Refunds or cancellations of paid reservations are only permitted if you give us at least 7 days' notice before the start of the workshop.
If you don't speak Portuguese don't worry we will give the workshop in english.
