The Intensive Ceramics Workshop combines hand-building and decoration in one day. In the intensive ceramics workshop you will learn 2 hand-building techniques, decoration methods and textures on raw clay, with engobes, as well as a historical introduction to the world of ceramics, from the type of paste and the process of transforming clay into ceramics. The format of the pieces is directly linked to the type of techniques we will be covering and means that at the end* you will take with you two pieces ready to use, i.e. fired and glazed.

No previous knowledge is required.

Program content

Theoretical introduction to ceramics: types of paste, firing, decorations and glazes
2 Manual forming technique: Slab and Pinch Pot
Finishes, collages, textures and decorations on raw clay, using engobes
Mini-manual
*All the pieces produced will be fired, glazed and fired again by us (they will have to be picked up afterwards).

Cancellations may occur. If the training is sold out and you would like to receive an alert if there are any withdrawals, send an e-mail to workshop@fica-oc.pt, with the subject line 'waiting list-workshop ceramics int', indicating your name and telephone number. If there is a cancellation for this workshop, we will let you know.

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellations/postponements/refunds of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) are only permitted if you give us at least 7 days' notice of the start of the workshop. Any cancellation with less than 7 days' notice, we will do our best to fill your place, however, a refund or postponement can only be made if your place is filled.
If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.

Covid-19

Wearing a mask is still compulsory. In addition, at the entrance (and often inside the workshop) you should disinfect your hands with an alcohol-based solution, which will be available inside the workshop. In the workshop, whenever possible, respect social distancing in order to maintain a safe distance from the other trainees.

In accordance with the legislation in force at the time of this training, it may be necessary to present a valid digital vaccination certificate and/or proof of a laboratory test with a negative COVID-19 test result.
