Description

In this Screen Printing Workshop you will print your own final artwork on paper. We'll go through the entire screen printing process, from choosing the screen for engraving the matrices (analog and digital), all the logistics of preparing the work set to recovering the screen. During the two sessions you will use screen printing frames with different sizes and threads (72F/90F) and understand the type of application that corresponds to each one. We'll explain the types of paper to print on, as well as the appropriate inks. At FICA we use water-based paper inks suitable for screen printing.

No previous knowledge or ideas are required. We'll experiment and create from a curation of materials and tools available to inspire your creative process.

Program Content

Class 1.
1-color final art print. 
Exercise with an A5 analog photolithograph, produced during the class with your own materials and collages. We'll have a wide range of stencils and materials with which you can experiment and combine something creative.
Overlapping techniques with the same layer - staining.
Numbered and signed edition of 15 unique prints, plus tests and exchange of prints from other participants.

Lesson 2.
Printing of a final artwork in 2 colors.
Exercise in registration and greater detail, with digital photolithography (can also be analog).
Technique of rigorous registration and overlapping of colors with transparency.
Numbered and signed edition of 20 unique prints, plus tests and exchange of prints from other participants

Material included

The screen printing workshop includes all the materials needed for the training.

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellation/postponement/refund of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) is only allowed if you give us at least 7 days' notice before the start of the workshop. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, we will do our best to fill your place, however, you can only postpone the workshop (or put the amount in a gift voucher) if your place is filled.

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
