Description
The potter's wheel is one of the ancient techniques of ceramics and allows you to create concentric and symmetrical shapes using a rotating base. In this potter's wheel workshop, each participant will have their own electric wheel so you can learn how to center and shape different forms on the wheel.
Practical exercise
In this potter's wheel workshop, the shape of the pieces is directly linked to the type of techniques we'll be covering and means that at the end* you'll take with you three pieces ready to use, i.e. fired and glazed.
No previous knowledge is required.
Minimum age for participation: 16 years / Accompanied by an adult (two entries): 14 years
Program content
Morning:
Introduction to ceramics, types of pastes, firing process
Kneading and preparing the paste for forming on the wheel
Learning to center, open and pull
Storage, clay recycling and cleaning
Afternoon:
Finishing and freight
Storage, clay recycling and cleaning
Demonstration of the glazing process
*The firing and glazing of 3 hand-scale pieces are included, which will have to be picked up later.

Cancellations may occur. Cancellation of Registration
IMPORTANT - Cancellations/postponements/refunds of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) are only permitted if you give us at least 7 days' notice of the start of the workshop. Any cancellation with less than 7 days' notice, we will do our best to fill your place, however, a refund or postponement can only be made if your place is filled.
If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.

We have a Ceramics Kit available, made up of all the material you need to start learning the various hand-forming techniques for ceramics. The kit is suitable for anyone who wants to continue learning, or who has never done a ceramics workshop before. It also includes a manual in which we explain the hand-forming techniques, as well as the preparation of the paste (and its packaging), the drying and shrinking process, among other details.
