In this workshop you will have the opportunity to explore the soft-varnish technique on two fronts: drawing and texture decals. The line produced using the soft varnish technique has characteristics similar to a graphite or charcoal drawing. Any texture, for example a fingerprint, can be captured onto the plate using this technique.
Promoting a safer and more ecological printmaking practice, the materials and processes used are alternative. Trainees will be introduced to acrylic varnishes, solvents green and the electrolytic corrosion process instead of traditional varnishes and mordants.

Print - Non-Toxic Printmaking Studio
Estampa - Non-Toxic Printmaking Studio is a project dedicated to printing techniques, with the aim of disseminating and fostering interest in this artistic practice.
Since 2016, we have focused on research and training in non-toxic engraving, seeking to offer alternatives for a safer, more conscious and ecological practice. A new approach for those who have no knowledge in the area as well as for experienced engravers, introducing them to acrylic varnishes, non-toxic solvents and electrolysis corrosion.
