Woodworking Workshop<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We are preparing to move to a new space in 2026. This workshop will take place in the new studio at Rua Bernardo Lima 10C.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 sessions of 3 hours | 9 hours in total

Description<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Carpentry Workshop is suitable for beginners who have never had contact with carpentry tools. You'll learn the art of transforming wood into useful objects, the work methodology inherent in carpentry, and the techniques according to what you're going to build. You'll also learn the function and handling of the vast glossary of hand tools we have in the woodworking workshop, such as saws<\/a> and chisels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical exercise<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After a theoretical introduction and practical exercises in cutting, fitting, carving and hollowing, you will build an object designed by us. The execution of this object brings together various woodworking techniques and is an ideal exercise for your first contact with this craft.
In the carpentry workshop, we'll teach you how to interpret and plan the project, measure and mark the wood. And then put into practice the principles of joinery and exercises previously carried out, applied to this specific object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No previous knowledge necessary. Minimum age for participation: 18 years old \/ Accompanied by an adult (two entries): 16 years old<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Program Content<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Class 1. Presentation of the purpose and methodology of the woodworking workshop \/ Types of wood and their applications \/ Introduction to hand tools for measuring, cutting, roughing and finishing \/ Introduction to cutting machines \/ Practical exercises using hand techniques for cutting, fitting, carving and hollowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesson 2. Object construction: Plan, measure and mark \/ Sawing: manual \/ Carving<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesson 3. Constructing the object: Preparing the faces \/ Fitting, joining and splicing \/ Finalizing the project<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cancellation of Registration<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

IMPORTANT - Cancellation\/postponement\/refund of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) is only allowed if you give us at least 7 days' notice before the start of the workshop. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, we will do our best to fill your place, however, you can only postpone the workshop (or put the amount in a gift voucher) if your place is filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
