Natural Dyeing Workshop<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We are preparing to move to a new space in 2026. This workshop will take place in the new studio at Rua Bernardo Lima 10C.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Natural Dyeing workshop is a theoretical and practical introduction to dyeing techniques using local plants. It allows you to get to know all the fundamental stages of the process, from preparing the fibers to extracting the color and applying it to fabrics. We'll explore how to achieve consistent, quality results, understanding the role of each stage in creating a good color palette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No previous knowledge is required.
Minimum age for participation: 16 years \/ Accompanied by an adult (two entries): 14 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complementary Workshop<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For those wishing to experience the interaction between screen printing and natural dyeing, we suggest a complementary participation in the Screen printing with mordants and natural dyeing workshop<\/a>.<\/strong> In this workshop, we apply mordants with screen printing to create patterns that take on color in the dye baths - a practical and visual approach to the crossroads between printing and natural color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical exercise<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop, we will collectively prepare and create three dye baths with local plants. Each participant will develop a selection of samples and will also have the opportunity to dye a larger piece of fabric for future projects (such as sewing, embroidery, patchwork, textile collage or home decoration). We will use shibori techniques and color modifiers to explore patterns and variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction to natural dyeing;
Background and basic principles;
Fiber preparation;
Extracting color from local plants;
Preparation of three dye baths;
Use of color modifiers;
Reserve techniques (shibori) for creating patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the natural dyeing workshop, the material needed to carry out the training is included.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
