Linogravure is a variant of woodcut with a softer and easier to engrave material, linoleum. It's a technique in which the blank areas are carved out, then the ink is applied to the relief, which works like a stamp and is then printed on paper using pressure. Mariana Santos is going to share what she considers to be the most intuitive way of doing engraving and the one that achieves the most complex and detailed results. In this workshop you'll learn the whole process of linogravure, from working the linoleum with gouges to printing monochrome prints that can be reproduced several times.

No previous knowledge is necessary. You can always bring sketches, drawings or ideas that you want to create in your print.

Cancellations may occur. If there is a cancellation for this workshop, we will let you know.

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellations/postponements/refunds of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) are only permitted if you give us at least 7 days' notice of the start of the workshop. Any cancellation with less than 7 days' notice, we will do our best to fill your place, however, a refund or postponement can only be made if your place is filled.
If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
