Description

Nerikomi is a Japanese technique that allows you to create patterns on ceramic pieces through the specific position of different colored pastes. In this workshop we will color pastes using dyes and oxides and learn how to combine and design different patterns. We will create a small showcase and build a piece using Nerikomi slivers, which will then be fired and glazed.

No previous knowledge necessary.

Syllabus and Practical Exercise

• Mixture of dyes and oxide in the paste, both in an atomized and plastic state
• Construction of Nerikomi patterns, from the more traditional to the more experimental
• Making standardized mini samples for showcases
• Making a simple piece from a standardized ballast

Firing and glazing - all the pieces produced will be fired, glazed and fired again by us (they will have to be picked up later on a date to be agreed)

Waiting List

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellation/postponement/refund of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) is only allowed if you give us at least 7 days' notice before the start of the workshop. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, we will do our best to fill your place, however, you can only postpone the workshop (or put the amount in a gift voucher) if your place is filled.

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
