Description

In the Tile Painting Workshop, you will learn how to create three individual tiles using the majolica technique. This technique, which emerged in the 16th century, allows you to apply paint with a brush directly onto the ceramic surface with raw glaze.

The workshop consists of two specific exercises in the majolica technique: estampilha and estresido, as well as a freer exercise.
You will develop and apply these techniques to three different tiles. During the tile painting workshop, you will explore these approaches, ensuring a practical and technical understanding of tile painting.

No previous knowledge is required.

Program Content

Sketches on tracing paper
Drawing transposition using perforated tracing paper and 'charcoal doll' - traditional technique
Brush painting with lead-free high-fire paints

Cancellation of Registration

IMPORTANT - Cancellation/postponement/refund of registrations (including gift voucher registrations) is only allowed if you give us at least 7 days' notice before the start of the workshop. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, we will do our best to fill your place, however, you can only postpone the workshop (or put the amount in a gift voucher) if your place is filled.

If a trainee fails to attend one or more training sessions, FICA is not responsible for replacing or compensating for that session.
